Exciting News – The Giggling Goat Café is Opening!
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you! On Monday 10th February 2025 at 8:30am, we will be opening the doors to The Giggling Goat Café - our brand new school café and farm shop enterprise.
This fantastic ...initiative will be led by our new café manager, Myles, who will support our students in gaining hands-on experience in customer service, food preparation, and business management. Through this, they will build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
The café will offer a delicious selection of tasty treats and drinks, lovingly prepared by Myles and our students as part of their learning. Beyond serving great food, this project will also support key areas of the curriculum, including English, Maths, PSHE, and food-related skills. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our young people to gain practical work experience and develop skills that will support them into adulthood.
We warmly invite you to come along, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and see our students in action. Your support will mean the world to them!
Open Monday to Friday, term time only, 8:30am to 3:30pm.

🎄 Thrive Christmas Challenge for Action for Children 🎄
Earlier this month, Thrive Approach sent out a Christmas challenge: to create as long a length of bunting as possible across all settings in the country. Here at Dovecote, we were excited to take part and see what we could ...achieve!
Students from Lower, Middle, and Upper sprang into action, designing some fabulous flags—featuring everything from the Grinch to a Christmas Crab! Even some of our amazing staff joined in the fun and got creative.
Thrive has pledged to donate to the Action for Children appeal for every setting that participates, with bonus donations added for every 100m of bunting created. With this wonderful cause in mind, our team gave it their all—one of our Upper students even created a whopping 17 individual flags!
In just four days, we worked together to create an incredible 41.7 meters of bunting! 🎉 This will now be added to Thrive’s grand total, and we look forward to hearing the final amount raised before Christmas.
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and contributed their creativity to this fantastic challenge. Well done, Team Dovecote!
